PLAN B

PRAYER: Lord show us that the plans you have for us far exceed our own plans. Let us be wise in our planning and flexible when our plans change.

VERSE OF THE DAY: Isaiah 55:8-9

Have you ever had a moment where you felt hopeless and in despair? Has it ever felt like things were just never going to happen for you? Or, things are happening but just not fast enough. It amazes me how we want things to be done our way, at a certain time, and we have the plans all mapped out. But, what happens when those plans don’t go as we think they should? Why do we begin to lose heart as if nothing good is going to ever happen for us.

Living our lives around a plan provides us with structure. One thing most people with a plan lack is flexibility with their plans. Most of us would prefer Plan A to work just fine. But, sometimes Plan B likes to step to the forefront. But, what if neither Plan A or Plan B doesn’t work? Will you get all bent out of shape? Will you fall into a deep sea of depression because things didn’t go your way? Or, will you make the decision to be flexible? Whatever happens, happens.

Are you able to admit to yourself that it is difficult when we don’t feel in control. It’s difficult when things don’t go as we planned. It’s difficult when God doesn’t move when we ask Him to move. What if God is trying to show you something important? What if your plan causes you to miss the voice of God and you are stuck on a path for 40 years instead of for 40 days? Did this not occur for the Israelites walking in the wilderness (Exodus 14)? What if you can’t make it to the promise land all because you have to have things done your way or no way at all?

God is not a very difficult God. In fact, God is very simple in what is required. So what is required of God? What’s required is that you know:

1.) That your thoughts are not God’s thoughts, nor are your ways His ways (Isaiah 55:8-9).

2.) We are to cast our cares on the Lord (1 Peter 5:7).

3.) Trust that God has a master plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11).

All of these things demonstrate how important it is for us to be flexible. There is nothing wrong with planning your day or even planning milestones in your life. In fact, it is wise to do so. What is unwise is not being prepared for the downfalls, the low seasons, those rainy days, or those moments of flexibility. We must be prepared not only during the high points but at the low points as well. So, map out your plans but do know that God may have other plans in store for your life. Be prepared for whatever God decides to do whether it goes your way or His way. Be prepared!

If any of my works have blessed you in any way. Help me reach my goal DONATE.
