PRAYER: Dear Lord guide the words that pour forth from my heart on today. Give me the wisdom to speak to the hearts of many. Give me the courage to say what needs to be said.
VERSE OF THE DAY: 1 John 4:8
As I sit here and reflect on the goodness of my Lord and Savoir, I am reminded of how important it is to never leave someone behind. Now granted, sometimes we have to leave others behind because they are not carrying their load. They are left behind possibly because they are making it difficult for us to move forward. But what about those who are weak at heart? What about those who want to try to do good desperately but struggle with getting it right? What about those who ask for our help and we turn the other cheek?
Ask yourself, are you leaving others behind? Or are you doing everything that you can to make sure that when you go higher they soar higher with you. How many of you can be humble enough to let someone soar higher than yourself? Are you humble enough to let someone advance ahead of you? Truth be told, we are all on different walks and different journeys in this life. You may not know or be aware of what it really took for that person to be in the position that they are in today.
Let’s deal with the attitude portion. Sometimes we have a jealous streak, we hold grudges, we are rude and mean, and very unkind. Has it occurred to you that maybe that person was homeless? Has it occurred to you that maybe that person went through a terrible divorce? Maybe that individual lost a loved one that was very dear to their heart. Sometimes people are not always elevated on account of the good. Sometimes people are elevated on life’s unforeseen events. My words of wisdom to you is to stay in your lane. Be a blessing to others where you can. Don’t be so quick to judge the path that someone is on. And, definitely do not envy your brother or sister in the faith. You don’t know their survival story. You’ve never opened a page to the chapters of their lives. Until you do, be mindful of your own attitude.
We were never created by God to be left alone. God created Adam and gave him Eve for a purpose and a reason. Being united and coming together is one of the many beautiful attributes of humanity. I encourage you to connect. I encourage you to be a part. I encourage you to get involved. But, I don’t encourage you to do those things for your own personal gain and benefit. I encourage you to do that so that you can be a blessing to someone else. You are in position to make a difference in the lives of the people who are around you. You are the one who has the power to take a stand in your very own home and in your community. All it takes is one. When you go higher, we all go higher.
My prayer today is that you will soar higher on a daily and consistent basis. I pray that you never leave a man behind. Be mindful of your boundaries. What you cannot do, leave to the professionals who are trained and equipped. But, at the same time enjoy being able to help someone else who is in need. Be a blessing and give to someone who has lost their hope or have lost their way. They need your guidance and they need your “touch”. So, leave your mark wisely. May our God continue to bless you as you continue to soar higher and take other’s with you.
