PRAYER: Lord we ask that you will continue to reveal to us our hidden gifts and talents that we may be a blessing to others. Let us not bury what you have given to us to use for Your glory. Let us remember that we have what someone else needs.
VERSE OF THE DAY: Matthew 25:14-30
It’s not everyday that I get a chance to come on here and blog but when I do I have a word from the Lord. I was sitting here and thinking about my own gifts and talents that I possess, how they impact others around me, how they are influential and beneficial to not only myself but to others. I realized how blessed I am to have the opportunity to share my heart with others.
God has given each of us different skills and talents. Some of our gifts are stronger than others. I’ve come to terms with understanding that it’s not what gifts I have as much as it is in how I use my gifts to be a blessing to others. You see, God did not just give you talents to bury and sit on. No! God gave you gifts and talents to use and to be a blessing within His Kingdom. God desires to see you prosperous but He also desires for you to be a blessing in the life of another.
One of my favorite mission statements that I live by is “People come to us because we have what they need.” That to me is such a powerful statement. How true it is that people who need something will come to connect with you on account of what you may have to offer. We see this every day in the business world. We are constantly interacting and exchanging goods and services because someone else has what it is that we need. How true this is for the body of Christ. Deep within you God has placed a very special gift that you do very well. It is up to you to determine just how you desire to take care of that in which He has given you. Are you going to keep it to yourself and bury it or are you going to do your best at blessing someone else with what you have because you know they need it. This will cause you to prosper and possibly multiply and flourish.
I encourage you today to use your gifts effectively and wisely in the body of Christ. It doesn’t matter if you are a freestyle writer like myself, a musician, a preacher, teacher, lawyer, cook, or a florist. Whatever it may be use it to the best of your abilities. Begin to teach your children how to recognize their gifts and encourage them to use that gift unto the Lord. Find and seek after your own gifts and your own talents. Enjoy being a blessing to someone who needs what you have. Well I pray that this has blessed you as much as it has blessed me. Until we meet again, be a blessing to the life of someone who needs what you have and see won’t the Lord do a greater work in and through you.
