PHENOMENAL WOMAN

Psalm 144_12PRAYER: Lord, no matter how hectic our lives may get or seem, no matter how much we wear the mask of perfectionism, no matter how much we think about our own personal natural beauty, continue to remind us that we are Daughters of a King. We have an unique and individual make up of a PHENOMENAL WOMAN.

VERSE OF THE DAY: Psalm 144:12

Today, I wanted to really minister to the women. How blessed we are to be called “wo” man. We have the most amazing ability to birth forth life from our wombs. God created us in His own image and gave us a phenomenal touch that simply cannot be explained. We go throughout our day working so hard to be “up kept”. You know we strive to be well put together. Seeing to it that we don’t have any flaws or imperfections in our natural beauty. We pretend like we have it all together when truth is majority of us are one thread away from having a nervous breakdown. (I can not emphasize enough in telling you that it is so important that you practice “self-care”. Take time out for yourself. Put “you” on your schedule.) Whether it be on the inside or on the outside we should each strive to learn a little more about who we are in God. God desires for us to know who we are as daughters in Him and he wants us to appreciate everything about who we are, from our personality to our genetics. Understanding that you don’t have to be perfect or have it together all of the time is just one step closer to being a PHENOMENAL WOMAN. Knowing yourself and being one with your Creator is more than enough. Here is a little reminder of just how beautiful you are. Strive daily to be a PHENOMENAL WOMAN.  Below is a poem written by the legendary author Maya Angelou. It simply reminds us women that we don’t have to be picture perfect as woman but that in our imperfections and unique individuality we are still phenomenal. Be encouraged and I hope you enjoy.

Phenomenal Woman IMG_1873

By Maya Angelou

Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I’m not cute or built to suit a fashion model’s size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I’m telling lies.
I say,
It’s in the reach of my arms,
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It’s the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can’t touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them,
They say they still can’t see.
I say,
It’s in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
Now you understand
Just why my head’s not bowed.
I don’t shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing,
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It’s in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need for my care.
’Cause I’m a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That’s me.
