SELF-AWARENESS

Matthew 18_15PRAYER: Lord help us to not be self-absorbent in our pride or ego. Help us to be self-aware at how we treat others. Make us more like Christ as we work through our positive and negative behavior and actions.

VERSE OF THE DAY: Matthew 18:15

There are times where we must be mindful of ourselves and how we treat others. How often do you evaluate your attitude and your behavior towards people? How often do you confess your mistakes and own up to them? Being self-aware is of importance to not only you but to those around you. There will be times that people will react off of the things you do or the response you make. Sometimes it is positive and other times it maybe negative. The question is are you aware of your positives and your negatives? Life is about making progress and evolving into what God has called you to be. In order for you to do this you have to make sure that you are aware of the things that you are doing; how it affects you as a person, who is watching you, and who will imitate your very actions. Be careful at how you speak to people and how you handle others. Treat others the way that you want to be treated is one of the best ways to put it. man-woman-450w

I encourage you today to become self-aware. Become aware of the type of person that you are first before you are quick to judge or point the finger on someone else’s faults or wrong doings. Don’t always be so quick to play the role as a victim but take a moment to reevaluate yourself and see if you were the offender. If so, then take the time to apologize and then move forward in a better direction. Making progress entails a lot of details. Some being able to recognize your own wrongs and faults. Be ready to take on the consequences of your own decisions whether good or bad. If you are the person offended then don’t hesitate to talk it over and tell the person who offended you how you truly feel. This does not mean you have to have an attitude but that you come humbly in prayer that the person will have a greater understanding and hear how you feel. Being self-aware of the things that you do and the people in whom you do them too will allow you to be more “Christ like” and less self-absorbent with pride and ego. Being self-aware not only betters you but it betters those around you.
