PEACE & TRANQUILITY

Moments of Reflection: “The real spiritual progress of the aspirant is measured by the extent to which he achieves inner tranquility” (Swami Sivananda).

PRAYER: Lord give us peace and tranquility on every side as we work towards drawing nearer and closer to You.

VERSE OF THE DAY: Romans 5:1

I’m going to do something a little different today. These are the words that I often times utter in an attempt to try and venture out and explore what life has to offer me. At times I end up with the greatest rewards and there are other times where it was just an epic fail. How often it is that I find myself to be my worst critic. I don’t give myself enough credit where credit is due and there are some times when I just feel like my best is not enough. Now of course, if I was someone from the outside looking in you would say otherwise. But that is just it, I am not someone on the outside looking in. I am the one on the inside looking out. And through it all I have the drive to explore and experience things constantly. It makes me ask the question do we ever really stop being curious. I mean do we ever really not like to take the risk at finding out about the unknown. The bible talks about people perishing from a lack of knowledge. I feel that with more knowledge comes more responsibility, not just to ourselves, or others, but before God as well.

It makes you wonder what was truly the thoughts of God when he created us in our mother’s wombs. What was His purpose and His plan? I guarantee you it was something so simple and so easy but as we become what we call wise we have a tendency to make it more complicated than what it truly is. The point and purpose is simply to enjoy life. It is just unfortunate that there are evils lurking that we just can’t shy away from. I say all of this to let you know that exploring who you are and what you are called to do and be is fun. It is challenging and exciting but the one thing that I encourage today is that when you do all of the exploring don’t forget to count the small stuff. Spend time with your family and friends, laugh a little, dance a little, and just enjoy the fact that you were able to live to see another glorious day. Don’t allow life to consume you with all of the busyness and congestion that you don’t take the time to walk with God and explore all of what He has made and created just for you. Take the time to shy away and enjoy the beauty of this earth. Despite of all of the calamity in the world take a moment to put that on pause and enter into peace and tranquility.
