VERSE OF THE DAY: 1 John 2:15-17
Have you ever found yourself in a disappointing situation? No matter what the situation may have been you walked into it with higher expectations then what you received. You found out that your standards require far more from an individual or circumstance than intended. I’d like you to know that there is a God who loves you.
When you think about your life understand that God has expectations for us as well. They may be challenging but they are standards that He requires of us. We read about these in the Old Testament under the Ten Commandment and throughout Psalms and Proverbs. These are clear instructions on how to conduct ourselves in certain situations. Not only did God give us His expectations of His standards but He also gave us the power of prayer and repentance. This means that we can go to Him at anytime and express to Him how we feel. We must sin no more after that. When we sin no more we also raise our own level of expectation for ourselves.
So be empowered today, in knowing that you serve a God who has standards for your life, but who also accepts that you are a flawed living vessel. Ask God to help you in the areas that you fall short in when reaching His standards. Know that God loves you and only desires the absolute best for your life. Remember to pray and express yourself before God and then ask Him how He feels towards your thoughts. He will answer you in due timing. Flourish in your relationship with God knowing that in Him you will not be disappointed.
