MAKE GOD FIRST

PRAYER: Lord help us to seek your face early when we arise. Help us to put you first as you balance out our days.

VERSE OF THE DAY: Jeremiah 2:32

Getting ready for your day can be time consuming for most of us. We finish prepping ourselves with a little eye shadow or lip gloss for the ladies, the brushing or putting gel in the hair or a spray of cologne for the gentlemen. Either way, we all are dressed and ready to head out of the door in hopes that we have grabbed everything we need, our keys, wallets, and cellphones. As we head to the door replaying our every move in our heads we ask ourselves, “What did we forget?” We know it’s something but we just can’t put our finger on it at the moment. We are already running behind and we don’t need to be late yet again. As you head down the road you are reminded that you forgot to pray this morning. You forgot to thank the Lord for being there with you every step of the way, for being that little small whisper that says don’t forget to unplug the iron and turn off the kitchen stove.

How often do we get up and get ourselves together and we neglect to acknowledge God. We forget He even exists because things were going very smoothly for us that morning. Who needs God? It’s not a crisis, besides the fact that you will be late for your morning meeting/class. Other than that there is no need to pause what we are doing when we are headed out the door, or is it? Take a moment to reevaluate the path you are on. Slow down for a moment and spend time with God. Ask Him to help you get your day started off just right. Ask Him to help you to seek His face first thing in the morning. Whatever you do let’s make it our business to MAKE GOD FIRST.
