THE GREAT COMMISSION

PRAYER: Lord help us to handle “The Great Commission” with an open mind and heart. Allow us to bring people closer to You. May you receive all of the honor and glory!

VERSE OF THE DAY: Matthew 28:19-20

There are so many people who need a word from God and you may just have the word that they need. Here’s my personal story:

While on my lunch break, as I was entering into our building, a woman randomly was having a conversation with me as I speedily walked past her as she limped towards the same building as me. As I walked way ahead of her rushing to get to the office, sit down, and demolish my food she was still limping on her cane and talking to me.

She eventually caught up with me at the elevators, still talking to me. I happen to work on the third floor the same floor she needed to be on. Before I entered the elevator something told me to slow down, walk with her, and to listen to her upon our exit. So I did. As we began walking down the hall she began to cry. She apologized to me explaining to me that she had just lost her best friend from cancer the other day.

As she poured her heart out to me I sat and listened as she pulled herself together to enter her doctors office. Before we departed she thanked me several times for just taking a moment of my time and sharing in on her grief. A have her words of encouragement and we departed. Before I clocked in I said a prayer for her, realizing that God can use me at any given moment and any given time and that I must always be prepared to share Him with somebody! Even if it’s an listening ear.

“The Great Commission”, requires that we share and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to others. It never gave stipulations on when, where, and what should be said. You may never know who you may need to share Christ with but you must always be prepared. My own personal goal is to simply love on at least one person and make an impact that will either empower them or change their life for the better. It doesn’t have to be extravagant. You don’t have to have a well known name either in order to be used by God. All you need is an open mind and heart in order for God to use you.

There is a leader and ministry inside of you. Sometimes God will give you a tailored made message for you to share with others. You will know what to say as the Holy Spirit will guide you through it. I encourage you to stay positive in your own thought process and try to encourage or inspire someone by using your own gifts or talents. You’d be surprise how many lives you can reach and touch just from being yourself. Remember “The Great Commission”, that through it all God will be with you always until the end of the age.
