PRAYER: Lord you have called each of us to be team players. Allow us to work in an effective manner keeping our hearts and minds on you and the assignment you have laid before us.
VERSE OF THE DAY: Proverbs 27:17
One thing that I have admired about the spirit of God is that He embraces unity and harmony. God enjoys seeing His children working together in one accord. Unfortunately, there are times when someone doesn’t want to work as a team player. Don’t automatically assume that they are being defiant. Sometimes people go through things and they allow it to build up, which shows in their performance. Instead try to encourage them and talk with them. Sometimes all your brother or sister in Christ needs is a pep talk. Pep talks are what help us get through those hard and trying moments. A simple conversation, a simple smile, or sometimes just sitting in silence is all that is really needed to get them through there day.
When others don’t desire to cooperate you take the lead, be an example, and give God your very best without expecting anything in return. God sees you and will reward you accordingly. This too doesn’t mean that just because you hold a higher positions then others that you have to be bossy. It also doesn’t mean that you have to be your colleagues best friend. What it does mean is that you have to treat people how you want to be treated. You have to make sure the task and assignment is done effectively. There will always be moments for play time. Just not at work. You can laugh and connect but don’t forget the purpose and the reason of the assignment at hand.
Encourage one another. Work together as one. Carry one another’s burdens when your brother or sister in Christ is down for the count. Tap in for them and get it done. I’m not saying do all of their work for them but if they are having a really hard day or something is just not right, you stepping in and helping them could strengthen them in the area that they need. So don’t be afraid to be a team player. Remember, team work makes the dream work!
