PRAYER: Lord You are the air we breathe. Fill our lungs with more of You. Allow us to breathe the air in which You have allowed us to experience one more time. Take away the feelings of being overwhelmed and frustrated as we desire more and more of You.
VERSE OF THE DAY: Job 33:4
Do you ever feel frustrated or overwhelmed? It seems like everything that you are doing is simply in vain. You turn around and before you know it, you are trying to juggle everything that is being thrown in your direction. It seems like you don’t have anyone who is there to stand in the gap and help you with all of what you are going through and dealing with.
For some of you, you are a giver by nature and you are giving your all to others who simply do not acknowledge or appreciate anything that you are doing for them. Before you know it you look up and you are asking yourself, “How in the world did I get here?” The frustration overshadows you and it is all just too much to take on. So what do you do? You simply stand there and breath! You don’t try to do anything more but take in deep breaths. These deep breaths are going to allow you to slow down so that you are able to think clearly enough to tackle one thing at a time.
So often we try to multitask or take on more than what we can handle. So what makes us overwhelmed? It’s not that we are powerless or that we are not strong enough. We cannot do it because we are really suppose to focus on one thing at a time. It takes skill and tactics to show us how to juggle multiple things at once. We must come up with a system that works well for us but helps us to maintain focus without becoming overwhelmed. Starting here will help us sort through that which frustrates and flusters us. So be encouraged today as you take a moment to not let everything overwhelm you. Stress can cause your breathing to be off track. Realign your breathing and become one with yourself. Take a few minutes out of your day to just breathe. Besides, it’s the weekend, which gives you even more of an excuse to simply relax and breathe.
