PRAYER: Lord allow our hearts to be changed, transformed, and renewed in and through you. Change our level of confidence as we seek Your face. Begin a new work in us through the power of prayer.
VERSE OF THE DAY: Psalm 13
Sometimes the pain is unbearable. Sometimes the situation is overwhelming. Sometimes the void is still there. God has given us eternal access to Him. He has given us a tool that we can use when we feel like everything is falling apart or splitting at the seams. God has given us a tool, known as, prayer. We often times believe that we have the full concept and understanding of how prayer works. We come into the presence of God with the intentions on changing God’s heart or changing the circumstances to comply with what we desire. We fail to realize that God is trying to do a greater work within us.
Prayer is so powerful that it allows us to tap in a little further spiritually with God and it allows the atmosphere to shift. The atmosphere shifts on account of our hearts being shifted. You see when you take the time out to talk to God and tell Him all about the good, the bad, and the ugly, you give God permission to step in and work on your behalf. We often times get frustrated because God does not work fast enough or on our behalf right away. In all actuality what we must realize is that when we pray to God He is really changing us. We are the ones who set the atmosphere on account of the mood we are in. With a little prayer in the mist of all of the chaos the atmosphere changes.
God is allowing the situation that we are praying for to humble us enough to come into His presence and seek His face. It is in His presence that we are able to regain our strength and confidence within ourselves. This allows us to better approach the situation or circumstance that may be troubling us. When we pray we say, “God I trust you” when in all actuality God is whispering in our ears and saying, “No, I trust you!” God whispers, “I trust that you can handle your circumstances through the strength that you will gain after you say your prayers.” So today focus on praying to God and regaining your strength letting Him do a new work in and through you. Pray knowing with confidence that, “prayer changes things on account of God trusting you.”
