PRAYER: Lord give us Your power for our will power is not strong enough to help us to GET BACK ON TRACK. Provide ways of escape so that we do not sin against You any longer. Help us to remain focused totally on You.
VERSE OF THE DAY: Romans 7:19, Matthew 11:28
There are days when you may ask yourself or even God, “Am I on the right track?” or “Am I doing things right?” or “Is this where I am supposed to be?” The answer to your question depends on if your heart is totally seeking after God or not. If you don’t have the peace of God within your heart when you are making decisions then chances are you may not be in the will of God when it comes down to decision making. You may want to think about it some and shift your focus back to Him, if you may have fallen off. You must not allow your flesh to arise and over power you. It doesn’t mean you are a bad person or anything it simply means you are human. It is in our human nature that we fall prey to wanting to satisfy our flesh which may lead us to making unwise decisions that later on may destroy us completely.
Our decisions when operating in the Holy Spirit should not make our stomach’s ball up into knots or make us feel uneasy about walking in God’s purpose and plans for our lives. I’m not talking about having faith and having to take that big leap in order to accomplish something bigger than you. I’m talking about the small things, hanging out with the wrong friends who influence you to do things that go against your own beliefs. How about saying no to going out to the bar or the strip club when you know you are on the brink of getting a DUI from intoxication.
Or what about sleeping around with someone you know you are not married to or who is of the same sex as you, stop those text messages and those late night phone calls. Your flesh can become weak and when you have to make those tough decisions to do right and die to your flesh, you can’t do it on your own. You need the Holy Spirit and the power of God to help you through those hard moments. It doesn’t mean that God doesn’t love you or that He doesn’t care. He is simply waiting for you to ask Him to help you.
God wants to get you on the right track with Him but He is not the kind of God that forces you to love Him. He wants you to make the choice to come to Him, broken, tore up, jacked to pieces, so that He can clean you up and make you as white as snow again. God is not afraid of your sins. Your sin and your struggles don’t intimidate God. In fact, sin caused Him to send His one and only Son, Jesus Christ so that you could be with Him and hang out with Him forever. God loves you and He wants you on track again. So surrender your will power to Him and ask Him for His power. Now this does not mean you stop here and that you won’t have to put in work. No, you have to go to those AA meetings, be mentored, be held accountable, seek professional help, participate in your community, go to church and to bible study and be fed the word of God. You have to do your part too and see won’t God turn your darkest nights into brighter days. So be encouraged my friend and GET BACK ON TRACK!
