SEEKING GOD

PRAYER: Lord allow us to make time for You and to seek Your face. Allow us to better our relationship with You. Draw us closer to You.

VERSE OF THE DAY: Matthew 6:33

People make time for the things they want to make time for. Listening to music, watching your favorite television show, being at your child’s game are all some of the things that we may find ourselves making time for. We enjoy them and how they make us feel within. So why is it so hard for us to get excited about spending time with God in the same way? Why would we rather skip Sunday school, skip praise and worship, skip paying our tithes? It’s so easy to skip God as if we were skipping rocks out on the lake.

I encourage you not so much in spending time with God but making yourself aware of when you spend time with God. Is it only when your world is coming to an end? Is it when you really need Him to move and shift things on your behalf? Having an intimate relationship with a God that we cannot see with the natural eye can be difficult.  Many of us struggle with handling our basic relationships. It’s right through there where you must reevaluate who you are affecting, why, when, and how, this includes how you affect God. God isn’t moved because you asked him to. He is moved because you love on Him wholeheartedly. Reevaluate your time, efforts, and energy and get back to spending time with God. You make time for everything else. Why not make time for Him?
