PRAYER: Lord allow our hearts not to be hardened. Allow us to see that you can touch the hearts and minds of those who wrong us. Grant us favor even when we feel powerless.
VERSE OF THE DAY: Exodus 7:3
Have you ever been in a situation and felt like God was just not seeing things your way? Have you ever felt powerless or felt like you just couldn’t win? Have you ever felt like you were on top and God had your back only for something to happen and knock you back down again? Well there will be times in your life that you will feel like all odds are stacked up against you. That you will feel like you are on top and something or someone will come and snatch it all away from you. It could be the loss of a friendship, the loss of a long lasting relationship/marriage, a loss of a job, or even a loss of a position. We often times think that these losses are about us. Sometimes the losses have nothing to do with us but everything to do with the one who took it from us. You may call them your enemy but are they really? Are you sure they are not your blessing?
We forget that all things work together for our good (Romans 8:28). This means, that during the loss we have a peace of mind. During the loss we have a God who will fight our battles for us. During the loss God has you covered. We neglect to look at the suffering of those who may have wronged us (Psalm 105:15). God doesn’t go without penalizing those who have wronged you. They suffer too. They suffer because they no longer have you, they suffer because they can’t find someone to fill the position as good as you, they suffer because they thought the grass was greener on the other side only to realize that same grass needs to be mowed too.
So don’t get discourage thinking that God is not with you. He is with you but He is a God who loves everyone just the same. Yes, even the people who wronged you and may continually do it again if given another opportunity. So be encouraged knowing that you have unmerited favor in the eyes of God. Know that God hears your prayers and your silent cries. God doesn’t just want you free but He desires for those who have wronged you to be free as well. Pray for them, remain humble, and keep in mind that IT’S NOT ALL ABOUT YOU.
